EASIEST FAUX FINISHES
"TWO TONE FREEHAND"
Hard to believe but you can't really mess this
up, and looks very unique to every decor.
I've used this in even the most high-end
homes!
Use with straight paint, no glaze.
There are many variations to this glaze,
using different tools. The picture at the right
I used car wash sponges. You must tear at
the edges first to rid your pattern of lines of
the sponge. Then overlap slightly with each
application, just as any tool used here.
This technique is very fast and fun with two
people. You do not have be too careful where
you roll, just slightly cross over the other
color and in different directions.
Pour each color of paint into a separate
tray.
TIP:( Make sure you keep each roller in
its own tray).
If you want one color showing more then
add more of that color when you first roll
on.
Roll first color on wall in different
directions with a gap of space equal to
whatever width your tool is.
After a small section done with first
color, roll on second color in same
manner SLIGHTLY overlapping first
color.
You do not want to paint completely over
the other color but do want the edges to
overlap, they mix themselves.
Continue until you cover complete wall.
When coming to the corners or edges,
use a brush with one color and 2nd brush
for 2nd color- add in randomly to cover,
just overlapping colors as you would with
the roller.
Remove tape, that's
all there is to it!
